Summary:

FalconTek is seeking a cleared Network Engineer to join their technical team in Ft Meade, MD. In a multi-vendor environment,
install, operate, and maintain a variety of hardware and applications. Installation of new hardware and software, system
hardening in accordance with DOD security rules, system backups, network performance monitoring, and improvement
recommendations are among the tasks. Apply fundamental theories, concepts, and principles to job tasks. Working with
minimal direction, solve a variety of complex challenges. Interact with internal and external customers on a regular basis and
contribute significantly to departmental objectives and planning efforts. 

Duties include:
? Ensures these Network systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures,
the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models and profiles of
standards – such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference
model – as they apply to the implementation and specification of Information Management (IM) solution of the network
layers, across the application program interface (API) and the external environment/software application.
? Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining network and Windows environments
? Experience with Cisco networking devices and technologies, including switches, routers, and dynamic routing protocols.
? Experience with Type-1 encryption devices.
? Experience with firewalls and complex rulesets.
? Experience with configuring systems to user environments.
? Troubleshooting at both the LAN and WAN levels
? Ensures that the network/transport layers of the common operating environment are compliant. Evaluates analytically
and systematically problems of workflows and network usage, organization and planning and develops appropriate
corrective action.
? Develop & ensure efficient application of change, configuration & release management processes
? Define and implement Document Management & version control processes (check-out/check-in, merge, build, re-lease,
etc.)
? Responsible for reviewing processes, and resources to make recommendations for improvements to increase
productivity and reduce costs
? Evaluate the portfolio of systems & solutions, assess functional requirements, develop and propose innovative solutions
(processes, tools, alternatives, etc.)
? Conducts inventory/procurement management, technical refresh, software update tracking, version control
implementation and standardization across the supported environments
? Must have the ability to design technical release templates and to draft release notes in support of release process
? Ability to write and update technical documents, procedures, TTP, SOPs, etc.
? Perform other duties as required.
Required Security Clearance: Active Secret/SSBI, US Citizenship required
Qualifications Requirements:
? Demonstrated experience with the forecasting, planning, and resourcing technical projects with responsibility to deliver
within cost, schedule, and performance. 
? Experience supporting DoD Coalition network infrastructure, initiatives, STIG procedures and service deployments. 
? Experience in analyzing network traffic with Wireshark or tcpdump 
? Experience with working in classified spaces to implement network solutions. 
? Experience with Palo Alto or Juniper.  
? Ability to depict network diagrams accurately using Microsoft Visio 
? Ability to initiate, manage, execute, and report tasks independently, as identified 
? Ability to communicate complex network principles and designs to clients 
? Minimum 3 years supporting DoD Coalition network infrastructure and service deployments 

? Strong proficiency in developing, improving, and establishing business processes and supporting tools 
? VCP 
? VCP-NV 
? CCNP Certification preferred 
? ITIL-Foundations certified 
? Advanced Networking Certification, such as CCIE 
Required Education and Experience:
? Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering).
With at least fifteen years of general experience of which ten years is directly related experience, a degree is not
required. 
? Seven years direct experience in the last fifteen years supporting IT projects and initiatives as a project planner,
manager, or comparable position.
? Position requires a current DoD 8570 IAT II certification
? A technical certification in expertise is required
